With the release of update 24.9.1 for this software, AMD has included Fluid Motion Frames 2better known as AFMF 2the frame generation technology that reduces frame latency and improves performance scaling to deliver a higher number of frames per second for smoother gameplay without affecting system stability.
Until now, to be able to enjoy this function, it was necessary to download software independently that was in beta phase. AFMF2 integration into AMD’s Adrenaline software is available directly from the control Panel through the HYPR-X section.

The second generation of AMD’s Fluid Motion Frame is a significant improvement compared to the first, as it includes a greater number of configuration options to minimize the latency and increase the graphic quality offering different pre-configured modes for users to choose whether they want better visual quality or a higher frame rate per second.
The AFMF 2 function is not only available for desktop computers with a graphics card from this manufacturer such as the RX 6000 Series and RX 7000 Series. It is also available on laptops that include RDNA 2 and RDNA 3 based graphics like the series 700M and 800M even with the series Ryzen AI 300 Strix Point.
Users who have an older graphics card based on RDNA 1 may forget to use this function. If this is your case, the control panel to adjust the operation of AFMF2 will not be displayed in the Adrenaline application.
What’s new in Adrenaline 24.9.1 software update
This new Adrenaline update, which reaches version 24.9.1, not only includes AFMF 2, but also includes support for the games Frostpunk 2, God of War: Ragnarök, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marines 2 and The Sims 4 with DirectX 11. Final Fantasy XVI receives expanded support for AMD Radeon Bost.
Another title that also benefits from this update is Counter-Strike 2, which receives support for Anti-Lag 2 function. AMD has taken advantage of this update to improve image quality by reducing artifacts displayed when playing videos at a smaller size, a function compatible with RX 7000 series graphics and laptops with the integrated 800M graphics.
