ASUS presents its range of Z890 motherboards for the new Intel CPUs

After a long wait, Intel presented its new generation of processors Intel Core Ultra for desktop computers. This new range of processors debuts the LGA 1851 socketso it is necessary to renew the motherboard to be able to use it. As expected, motherboard manufacturers have already prepared their range of motherboards with the Z890 chip compatible with these processors, with ASUS being the first to officially present them.

These new motherboards welcome the Artificial intelligence with new features that make it easier to configure and detect problems using natural language

ASUS Intel Core Ultra 200 compatible motherboards

This new range of motherboards for Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processors for desktop computers is made up of 5 families.

  • ROG Maximus
  • ROG Strix
  • TUF Gaming
  • Prime
  • ProArt

The Intel Core Ultra Series 2 incorporates a NPU to perform Artificial Intelligence tasks, although with a performance much lower than the range of laptop processors, reaching a maximum performance of 13 TOPS. To improve their performance, the new ASUS motherboards incorporate NPU Boost which is responsible for overclocking the NPU to increase its performance by 24% in applications and functions based on Artificial Intelligence.

ASUS ROG Extreme Z890 motherboard

ASUS Z890 range of boards supports high-performance memory modules DDR5. ROG Maximus z890 Extreme, ROG Maximus Z890 Hero and ROG Strix Z890-E Gaming WiFi boards include the technology NitroPath DRAM which offers higher slot holding force and reduces noise interference through shorter gold pins to deliver the highest data transfer speed between DRAM and CPU to improve system performance.

The ROG Maximus Z890 Extreme, ROG Maximus Z890 Apex, and ProArt Z890 Creator models feature Wi-Fi. two PCIe 5.0×16 slots that can work in x8/x8 configuration to take advantage of the power of several graphics working on AI tasks.

The port Thunderbolt 5 It is another novelty that the new ASUS boards have the Z890 chip, a port that supports up to 80 Gbps of bidirectional bandwidth and up to 120 Gbps with Bandwidth Boost. This port is only available on the ROG Maximus Z890 Extreme and Pro-Art Z890-Creator WiFi boards. Support can be added for the rest of the ASUS models with the Z890 chip with the ASUS ThunderboltEX 5.

Artificial Intelligence reaches ASUS boards

As we mentioned above, this new series of motherboards welcomes Artificial Intelligence through different functions so that users can solve any problem as quickly and easily as possible.

  • AI Advisor. A technical assistant always available to whom we can ask questions using natural language.
  • AI Overclocking. This tool allows you to increase CPU clocks with a single click to obtain the best performance in combination with all the components that are part of the system.
  • AI Cooling II. It allows users to get the perfect airflow at low workloads by managing the operation of the fans so that they make as little noise as possible without overheating the computer via CPU input.
  • AI Networking II. This tool uses Artificial Intelligence to optimize network settings and thus offer the best experience in online multiplayer titles.
