On October 10, Intel presented the new generation of processors for desktop computers within the K and KF range, with the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K and the Intel Core Ultra 7 265K at the head as maximum representatives. These processors also debut a new motherboard with the Z890 chip, board that all manufacturers have ready to launch on the market on October 24, when the new Intel processors also do so.
Thanks to these new motherboards, the most enthusiastic users will be able to give free rein to their imagination as they have access to DDR5 memories-10000 thanks to XMP memory overclocking.
However, not everything is as pretty as they paint it, since as we can see on the ASRock website, specifically in the details of the Z890 Taichi motherboard, only the K processors will be able to achieve a RAM memory speed DDR5 so high.
Intel Core Ultra non-K memory will not exceed 7,200 Mhz
As we can see on the specifications page of the ASRock Taichi motherboard With the Z890 chip, Intel Arrow Lake processors that are not within the K range and that will be launched at the beginning of the year (probably at the CES event where NVIDIA will present the new RTX 50 range), have the maximum speed of the memory at 7,200 MHz. However, the maximum speed supported by Intel K series processors available on the market as of October 24, can use DDR5 memory up to 9,066 MHz.
core ultra nonk seems terrible on d5.

While it is true that it is not good news that the new Intel processors outside the K range do not allow the speed of RAM to be increased via overclock, this is not really the case.
Intel processors like those from AMD are optimized to run with DDR5-6000 memory, and increasing speed translates directly into better gaming performance, especially in the FPS numberalthough it is not a substantial difference other than in rendering tasks.
If you want to get the most out of your computer, from the RAM to the processor, the best way to do it is with the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K or the Intel Core Ultra 7 265K in combination with a high-end motherboard such as the case of the Taichi Z890 from ASRock.
When are the rest of the Intel Core Ultra 200 processors for desktop PCs released?
As it does every year, Intel has first presented the K range for the most enthusiastic, for those who want to get the most out of their processor through overclocking. According to Intel, the second batch of the 15th generation of Intel processors for desktop computers, will hit the market during the first quarter of 2025.
It is more than likely that they will be announced at CES, which is held every year during the first week of January in Las Vegas. Regarding the price, as we saw a few days ago, Intel has followed the same trend, instead of lowering them like AMD did with the new generation.
