There are many types of screens and monitors on the market, but the vast majority of those we know of use a series of very similar technologies to represent an image while there are others that completely change the way they do it. One of the most striking models in this regard are those that use electronic ink technology since they eliminate many of the problems that traditional screens have, but they come with many others such as the price or how low their technical specifications are, such as refresh rate, although the new E-Ink screen of Dasung manages to reach the 60Hz.
For many people, using a normal monitor can be quite bad, the fact that they are quite uncomfortable for those who are not used to it is something that not even eye protection technologies can fix. This is where some different types of technology arise, such as electronic ink, which by simulating a series of details similar to those that we could find in a paper and ink format, manages to make it much more comfortable to read something that stands out a lot, especially in devices such as Kindles or other types of electronic books.
A format that completely changes the screens receives a very important update
The ability of a technology to evolve often depends on the budget invested by the main companies that develop it, and if we refer to screens that use electronic ink technology, there really aren’t too many that are interested. That is why many of the advances in this field come from the same brand, Dasung, a Chinese company that always looks for a way to ensure that E-Ink monitors continue to advance, they launched the first curved monitor with this technology as well as the first color monitor that uses it.
Now they arrive with a new advance that increasingly brings this type of peripherals closer to traditional ones, and normally we can expect electronic ink screens to offer at most a refresh rate of 30-40 Hz, but now the brand has launched one with the standard that normal monitors have. And they have introduced the Paperlike 103a screen of 10.3 inches that uses ink electronics and that is capable of offering a refresh rate of 60 hertz.
This model comes with specifications that are not basic at all, and it is a portable monitor that offers a resolution of 1874×1404 pixels with a 4:3 aspect ratio while also incorporating a front light with brightness and color temperature adjustable, which helps prevent eye strain when looking at the screen for long periods.
In general, this type of technology attracts a lot of attention since they really offer features that can solve many problems for certain people, and we could even consider how they would work in certain aspects such as video games, since it would be something quite striking to see.
