In mid -2024, Microsoft presented, by the hand of Qualcommthe first series of processors with ARM architecture. We talk about processors Snapdragon X Elite and Snapdragon X Plusa series of processors that, in addition to being available in the Surface range, we can also find it in laptops from other manufacturers such as Asus and Lenovo.
In this same presentation, Copilot+ PC, the artificial intelligence of Windows that, little by little, is adding new functions, which, until now, have been limited to the equipment managed to the Qualcomm processors, something that, without a doubt, has not helped the sales of laptops with this new architecture.
Although some of these functions were limited to Qualcomm processors, that did not mean that new processors of Intel and AMD With Copilot Certification, such as Core Ultra 200 or the Ryzen AI 300They were not able to perform them. Once again, both companies had reached an agreement to encourage sales of new processors something that, as we have seen, has not really happened.
Finally, it seems that the agreement is over and from now latest generation processors that Intel and AMD have launched to the market in recent months.
This limitation made no meaning since both had the Copilot certification by including a Neuronal processing unit (NPU) with a performance equal to or greater than 45 topscertification that the Core Ultra Series 1 and the AMD Ryzen Series 8000 had.
Copilot+ functions already available for all
From this moment on, if you have a laptop with a Core Ultra 200 processor or an AMD Ryzen AI 300 you can start using the following functions that, until now, were limited to Qualcomm processors with ARM architecture.
- Live subtitles. This function offers real -time translations to any language for audio and video content, both in video calls and in conversations and even in video reproduction. At the moment, this function is available in more than 40 languages.
- Voice access. The voice access function allows users to communicate with their PC using a natural language, not through robot -type commands, a function mainly aimed at people who have mobility problems.
- Restyle Image and Image Creator. But, if what you were waiting for is to generate images with AI on your PC you can do it locally through the Image Creator functions. In addition, with the Restyle Image function, you can also give a completely different touch to any other image.
- Cooking in Paint. Little by little, Paint has ceased to be Windows’s ugly duckling. With the introduction of Windows 11 and shortly after with AI, it is now capable, not only to erase funds and work with capable, it is also able to turn sketches into authentic works of art with a simple button.
