CPUs will be sold in Europe without unnecessary packaging (and maybe no dissipator)

Every day projects of new measures come out at European levels that seek to facilitate the lives of people while in turn also offer other capacities such as reducing the use of plastics to try to take care of the environment. One of the latest measures that has come has to do with the packaging of the CPUrather, with all products that have a plastic container, since there is a new regulation that will try to reduce the use of this material, eliminating everything that results unnecessary When selling the product.

The European Union has managed to carry out a lot of measures that have not only been applied in the euro zone, but have managed to transfer borders to manage to standardize certain aspects that we now use practically daily. One of these proposals was for example the standardization of the USB-C connector for smartphones, making even companies like Apple that used their own charger left the idea to unify all the loading systems that these devices have. Now there is another measure that could affect how various products are sold, since it seeks to eliminate all unnecessary plastic that is incorporated into certain containers.

A European measure that seeks to eliminate unnecessary packaging

The processors, like many other components, have a fairly wide process until they reach stores so that a user can buy them. One of the phases that pass in this process is the packaging, when they are manufactured, they leave practically 1000 units trays, but to reach the consumer obviously goes through an additional process. In this process the product is saved in a series of cardboard boxes with various plastics to protect it, avoiding in this way that it can be damaged in the process, making the product virtually 10 times larger than it really is .

But this could cease to be, since the new regulation on containers and packaging waste (PPWR) that entered into force a few days ago tries to reduce the use of plastics in this type of packaging, to eliminate for example all the paraphernalia that Incorporates the Core I9-9900K box, which Intel has already changed so that it does not use the mythical hexagon. Although this measure could also prevent manufacturers from incorporating typical dissipators of Stock since within the regulation itself it could be considered unnecessary because there are not so many people who use it, causing it to be separated for those who want to buy it.

This measure would affect a segment of users who buy processors for more basic computers, since the highest performance models do not usually implement this type of dissipators because they do not usually offer sufficient quality to reduce the temperatures of the CPUs with a TDP greater than 65 W.

In general, this would be the perfect measure for Intel and AMD to end up being completely free from dissipators of Stock.
