How to get it right when buying your peripherals on Black Friday 2024

We are just a few days away from practically all online electronics and technology stores going crazy with offers for the Black Fridaywhich as you already know is not limited only to “Black Friday” but extends from the week before, and even longer. And, if you’re on the hunt for some new peripherals for your PC or console, you are probably anxious for these offers to start to make your purchases… however, in this article we are going to give you a series of tips to make the right purchase and that you can save the most money possible.

In this article we are going to focus on peripherals (keyboards, mice, headphones, monitors, chairs…) because, traditionally, they are the devices that sell the most on these dates. Many of them cost relatively little money and that can cause us to jump into buying without looking carefully first, and sometimes that results in overpaying. So, let’s go with the advice that, from our experience, we can give you in this regard.

Let Black Friday offers be real offers

Well, we all know what happens on these dates, and if you don’t know, we’ll tell you; It’s like those “day without VAT” promotions, which reduce the price of many products claiming that it is as if they did not have VAT, and in reality a few days or weeks before they have raised their price to, in the end, end up selling them at the same price or even more expensive.

Let’s look at an example:

In this store, the Corsair Xeneon 34WQHD240-C monitor is sold with a supposed 31% discount, a very tempting offer to tell the truth because we are talking about you saving a whopping 509 euros on the purchase… right? Well no, not at all. The monitor is on sale, since they sell it for 1,150 euros but the reality is that its base price is not €1,659 but €1,349 (you can see it in the manufacturer’s online store). In other words, it is on sale, yes, but its discount is not 31% but 14.75%, and you save not 509 euros but 199.

Do you see what we mean? Here the store has greatly inflated the price monitor base to make it appear that the discount is much greater than it actually is. In this case, the monitor is really on sale, although less than what they say, but the important thing is to make sure that the offer is real, since there are cases in which in the end they end up selling a product above its price. price.

Compare prices at various stores

Of course, one of the things you should do if you don’t want to spend more money than you should is that, when you have already decided on a product, you should compare your price in several stores and not limit yourself only to the usual store. Be careful, we are not telling you to go looking in unknown and/or dubious stores, but in Spain we have more than a dozen computer and electronics stores in which during this Black Friday they will surely have promotions on peripherals, and in which you can buy with complete confidence.

From our own experience, we can recommend many stores: Amazon España, PcComponentes, Coolmod, 4Frags, Izarmicro, VSGamers, Alternate, Aussar and GAME are stores where we have personally made purchases without any problem. However, that does not mean that our recommendation remains that you compare the price of all of them.

Watch out for special promotions

This third recommendation would only affect the largest stores, since the humblest ones usually have general promotions during Black Friday and that’s it. What we want to tell you is that, since the “Black Friday promotion” lasts a week or more, they usually have themed days with special promotions, such as peripherals.

Special promotions

In this way, although they will have many peripherals also on sale throughout the entire period of their Black Friday promo, some stores activate even lower prices on specific days, as you can see in the image that we have placed above these lines. For this reason, our recommendation is that you do not let anxiety get the better of you and that you wait for the right moment to save as much as possible by taking advantage of these special days.
