One of the main reasons why many users look for a monitor that offers a high refresh rate is the fluidity they offer in the images, something that at first may seem insignificant, but that we once tested in a game that requires this fluidity is extremely high, we notice the difference. But most screens that arrive with frequencies higher than 400 Hz usually have basic panels, along with a fairly normal resolution, something that since Samsung they don’t want to do, since they are developing a panel QD-OLED of 500Hz.
During the last few years we have seen how many companies have established as a priority to try to offer a series of monitors that manage to monopolize the high performance market, there are some that easily manage to exceed 360 Hz, while others take it to the extreme, offering even 480 Hz. Now Samsung wants to try to position itself as the leading company in this field, since they plan to launch, during the first quarter of next year, a panel that has a large number of new features, since it is capable of reaching the 500 Hz, something that will allow them to surpass their opponents both in quality and performance, and surely also in price since it will be quite high.
A panel created for gaming with the highest refresh rate and display quality possible
Gaming monitors usually have as one of their main characteristics the fact that they incorporate a panel capable of offering a much higher refresh rate than other more basic models. Many people think that there is no difference between 60 and 120 Hz, but it is something that must be verified, although what is clear is that what some companies try to implement may often seem excessive, such as exceeding the 240, 360 and now, 480 Hz to offer a panel that is extremely fast.
In this aspect, Samsung seems to be leading the competition starting next year, since they are developing a panel that they plan to launch relatively soon that is capable of offering much higher technical specifications than we think. The fact that the monitor manages to reach 500 Hz is something that is not too strange, since we have seen other brands such as ASUS or LG that have screens that manage to reach 480 Hz, so a 20 Hz difference is not so big.
But what we can say that stands out about this panel is the fact that it incorporates the technology Quantum Dot on a panel OLED that has a resolution QHD (2560x1440p), meaning it will not only ensure the best image fluidity but also offer extremely vivid image quality. Although what is clear is that achieving 500 FPS with a monitor that has such a high resolution in a title that requires quite a few requirements is something that practically no configuration will achieve, although in games that are less demanding like Counter-Strike 2 can be a big change for many users (who can afford it).
