If we work creating content, giving up transfer speed or storage is not an option. For users who need a storage unit external with a high read and write speed data, Corsair has just announced the EX400U USB4 external SSD.
EX400U USB4 External SSD
If we talk about the EX400U USB4 SSD unit, as we can deduce from the name, we are talking about a unit compatible with USB4which allows it to offer sequential reading speeds of up to 4,000 MB/s and 3,600 MB/s in writing. Not only compatible with USB4, but also compatible for Thunderbolt 4 and USB 3.x type Cthus expanding its versatility.
These speeds are perfect for users who regularly work on content creation as they significantly reduce waiting times. It is also ideal for projects that occupy several hundred GB and even for making backup copies of our PC, although it has not been designed for this task.
Like most external SSD storage drives, the EX400U USB4 SSD supports plug and play and it does not need an external power source whether we use it connected to a computer portablelike a digital camera or even a smartphone, since the energy necessary to operate is obtained directly from the port.
This unit is compatible with the iPhone 15 onwards and with all iPad models that use the USB-C port. Additionally, it includes support for MagSafe to attach to the back of the iPhone and be able to use it without having to hold it with the case and running the risk of it ending up falling.
As we can see in the images of this product, the design of the EX400U External SSD is square and has a size of 64 mm side12 mm wide and a total weight of 500 grams, very different from the EX100U from this same manufacturer whose design is elongated.
This unit includes management software Corsair SSD Toolbox which includes advanced functions to manage the operation of the unit, erase content securely and irrecoverably as well as take care of checking for firmware updates.
The Corsair EX400U external SSD is available at 3 storage capacities: 1, 2 and 4 TB. The MBTF of these three storage versions is set at 1,400,000 hours, they use 3D NAND memories, work without problems between 0 and 70ºC and we can store them at temperatures ranging from -40ºC to 85ºC.
