With less than 10 days left for this announcement, with the leak that we published yesterday with all the specifications of this model, we only need to know the price.
A couple of weeks ago, several American retailers had already listed this processor. Making the dollar-euro exchange and adding taxes, everything seemed to indicate that the Ryzen 7 9800X3D would have a price of 599 euros in Spain, 50 euros more than the starting price of the Ryzen 7800X3D that it replaces.
Price of the Ryzen 7 9800X3D
It was a matter of time before this processor appeared in a European retailer and, once again, this was the French PR21 website, although it is currently no longer available. The price without taxes of the Ryzen 7 9800 X3D is 463.56 euros.
If we add the corresponding VAT, which in Spain is 21%, if this price is the official one, the new king of gaming will hit the market for 560.90 eurosonly 11 euros more than its predecessor.
The French website PR21 is not the only one that already has this processor listed. Lithuania-based retailer Inida also lists the Ryzen 7 9800X3D for 557.31 euros, including VAT which is the same as in Spain (21%).
The price difference between the PR21 website and Inida is only 3 euros, so, if these prices are confirmed, we can safely say that the launch price of the new king of gaming for 2024 and 2025 will be about 560 euros including taxes in Spain.
Although it is increasingly difficult to find the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, the websites where it is listed are available for 470 euros in PcComponentes, when its launch price was 549 euros. At the time of publishing this article, Amazon does not have any units of this processor.
AMD X3D Processors
With the launch of Ryzen 7 5700X3D At the beginning of this year, it was a matter of time before the Ryzen 7 5800X3D would disappear from the market. This is precisely what has happened in recent weeks, since it is practically impossible to find it in any online store or in physical stores.
Currently, AMD’s range of 3D V-Cache processors consists of the Ryzen 7 5700X3D, Ryzen 7 7800X3D and will be joined next week by the Ryzen 7 9800X3D.
However, it is especially striking that Amazon does not have availability of the 7800X3D, although this is probably due to a stock problem, since in the rest of Europe there seems to be no problems.
It makes no sense that, with the launch of the 9800X3D, AMD eliminates it from the market, leaving the 5700X3D as the entry model. In fact, the current price of the 7800X3D will most likely be reduced even further in the coming weeks.
Regarding whether it is worth changing the Ryzen 7 7800X3D to the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, taking into account that, according to AMD, the difference in gaming performance will be 8%, it is advisable to wait for the next generation. Both use the AM5 socket on the motherboard.
