The launch of the series Redmi K80 It is quite close and, on paper, it is something that in Spain neither suits us nor suits us. Or so it should be, if it weren’t for the fact that everything indicates that one of the models in this family would be the impressive POCO F7 Ultra than Xiaomi It’s going to be released next year.
The reality is that, at the moment, Xiaomi hasn’t started dropping official hints about the phone yet, but a recent livestream on Douyin (China’s TikTok more than TikTok itself) by Redmi general manager Wang Teng revealed some key details about the upcoming device. , and the truth is that it has given us quite long teeth, it must be said.
Shaping the hypothetical POCO F7 Ultra
The video offered a first look at the front design of the Redmi K80 Prorevealed its (admittedly exaggerated) AnTuTu score and even hinted at its price.
Starting with the highlights, the device boasts of muscle achieving a score of more than 3 million points on AnTuTuall while maintaining operation at room temperature with a maximum recorded temperature of 49 °C, that is, we can say goodbye to the exaggerated overheating that has occurred in some of the brand’s devices. Curiously, along with the K80 Pro, two other unnamed phones were shown, which obtained 2.73 million and 2.83 million points respectively, but it seems quite evident that the Pro would be the POCO F7 Ultra that we would see in Spain.
The image also hinted that the phone would have a metal frame, at the same time Wang Teng also confirmed that the K80 series will take advantage of the HyperOS 2.0 system which has just been officially presented along with the Xiaomi 15 that saw the light of day in China a few days ago. Of course, it will do so with a small peculiarity, since it would be customized for improved gaming performance, improved touch response and boast new system animations.
Another detail revealed during the broadcast was the confirmation of the return to the dual flagship strategy for the Redmi K series. This means that we will see a Redmi K80 standard and a K80 Prowhich would probably be the POCO F7 Pro and POCO F7 Ultra in Europeleaving for later whether we would finally see a standard model of the family or not.
Furthermore, the firm has not been content with revealing these virtues of its next phone, but also hinted at a lower price than the model 13 of the “red” competitor (a rather strange way of referring to the OnePlus 13). At this point it is appropriate to point out the prices in China for this device: the OnePlus 13 has a starting price of 4,499 yuan (about 650 euros). The Redmi K80 Pro could therefore fall below the 4000 yuan mark and cost less than 600 euros in its native country.
If we had to bet on its price in Spain, surely when adding taxes, we would stay at those 650 euros, without counting on launch promotions.
